Take a breather at these restaurants in Singapore with views of the sea

What’s the point of living on an island if you don’t indulge in some waterfront dining now and then? Despite our relatively proximity to beaches all over the city, these restaurants are not as common as they should be – a real pity since some time under the sun with views of the sea is really what the human soul needs.

Sun’s up, guns out and get your forks and knives at the ready.

Bayswater Kitchen

Bayswater Kitchen at Keppel Bay is known for more than just its seafront location. The food is as easy-going as the open air spot with an ala carte menu that showcases crowd favourites like the traditional fish and chips and fisherman’s pie. Plus, it’s also pet-friendly so you’re more than welcome to bring your furry-pawed mates with you.

Sabio by The Sea

The coasts of Spain come to Sentosa thanks to Sabio by The Sea – one of Singapore’s first tapas bars. All of the well-loved Spanish dishes are available here from patatas bravas to tortilla Española and be sure not to miss the paella for which it has a dedicated menu section for. Carnivores can also look forward to a selection of grilled meats kissed by the smokiness of the Josper Grill. The El Pulpo, or grilled octopus leg is a restaurant signature, best washed down with copious amounts of Sangria served by the jug.

Ps Cafe By The Sea

Fans of PS Cafe’s truffle fries can now dig into their favourite pile of fried potatoes with a view of the sea at East Coast Park. If that’s not your cup of tea, however, we’d strongly recommend the crab tart where succulent flakes of blue swimmer crab are paired with a prawn bisque and set into a buttery shortcrust.

Stella Seaside Lounge

At Stella Seaside Lounge, every day is Sunday and the vibes here, from the smiling servers to the music and even the menu reflect this approach. We’d strongly recommend coming in a group as the food here is meant for sharing. Take your pick from a range of roasts, from grilled whole chicken to rack of lamb and the St Louis pork ribs, served with delectable renditions of garlic butter prawns and white wine clams. Thirsty? Ask for the drinks menu for a formidable wine list.

Panamericana

Get your sundresses and sun hats at the ready-for-grill restaurant Panamericana is probably the most Instagrammable location on our list. It could be the massive white awning that stretches out from the top of the restaurant or its tasteful decor, where black and white floors meet rattan furnishings. Food-wise, you can’t go wrong with the Iberico Pluma which comes with a caramelised pineapple salsa on the side nor the Latin-inspired Lamb Al Asador for its finger-licking charred bits.
